"Needed an urgent water heater replacement when our 14 year old Gas tank sprung a leak at the weekend. Contacted a few companies for a Heatpump solution. Gavin responded on Sunday night and on Monday, after agreeing the quote with government rebates included and the solution required (iStore 270), arranged for installation on Tuesday. On Tuesday, the guys came round and removed the old heater and installed the new Heatpump. Works were tidy and the guys were professional and friendly. Highly recommended."

How do Heat Pumps work?

Heat pumps work a bit like a reverse fridge — they pull warmth from the air and transfer it into your water using a special liquid called a refrigerant. This process is highly efficient, giving you hot water while using far less electricity than traditional resistive element hot water systems.

See the following video from Solar Victoria explaining how Heat Pumps work in more detail.

Save money and lower your environmental impact

Reduce energy costs and save money

Switching to an energy-efficient heat pump system can cut your hot water and heating bills by a significant margin. By using the latest technology to draw heat from the air instead of relying on traditional gas or electric resistive elements, you’ll enjoy long-term savings while protecting yourself from rising energy prices.

Lower environmental impact

Heat pumps run on renewable energy from the air, meaning they use far less electricity and produce fewer greenhouse gas emissions than conventional systems. Inside the unit, special liquids called refrigerants absorb and move heat — modern versions are designed to be far more environmentally friendly than older types. By making the change, you’ll reduce your household’s carbon footprint and contribute to a more sustainable future. And with no open flames or risk of gas leaks, they’re a safer choice for your home as well.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What brands do you install?

We have a core list of products that we stand by and recommend, this includes the likes of Aquatech, iStore, Reclaim + more.

We install a wide variety of different products to service the whole market. That being said, if you want a specific brand not already mentioned, we can still install it!

  • What size heat pump do I need?

In general, we recommend that households with 1-2 bedrooms opt for 150-225L tanks, 3-4 bedrooms ~270L, and 5+ will require 300L+.

This is of course dependent on how many hot water users in the house, number of children, and your hot water usage habits.

  • What rebates am I eligible for?

Each rebate covers a different aspect of your installation, and most customers qualify for multiple programs. The STC rebate applies to everyone and is based on the type of heat pump you’re installing.

The VEEC rebate depends on your existing hot water system, and recent updates mean nearly all systems are now eligible.

Finally, the Solar Victoria rebate is income-based and requires you to apply directly with supporting legal documents. For more details, visit our rebates page

  • How long is turnaround?

For most installations, we can complete the job within a week of confirmation.

However, if your installation involves the Solar Victoria rebate, we’ll need to wait for your application to be approved before proceeding, but once finalised, the same quick turnaround applies.

  • What areas do you service?

We service all of metro Melbourne, Geelong, and some regional & Peninsula areas.

Reach out and we’ll let you know if we can service your area!

We love talking Heat Pumps.
